On Sunday, 6 April 2025, the 20th anniversary edition of the CSOB Marathon took place in Bratislava, with members of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) in attendance. Nine SVK SOF runners competed in the official half marathon and marathon line-up, proving that Special Forces have stamina, strength, determination and an unwavering will to achieve exceptional feats.
      The best result was achieved in the half marathon, where members of the Special Forces placed in the top forty in the men's category in a fiercely competitive field. They demonstrated that elite training translates into civilian conditions where seconds and minutes make the difference.
      Sylvia Shebestian ran the women's half marathon brilliantly, achieving an excellent time of 1:34:18 and earning 11th place in the women's over 40 category. Her performance proves that perseverance and determination know no age limits.
      Our members' participation in such prestigious events is not only about sporting results. It also demonstrates the values of the Armed Forces: discipline, perseverance, and collective spirit. All the runners were proud to represent the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic (AF SR), even out of uniform, and to showcase their department to the public.
