French Ambassador visits 5th Special Forces Regiment
During an official working visit to the Žilina region, French Ambassador Nicolas Suran, accompanied by First Secretary Sébastien Girard and Press Attaché Didier Rogasik, visited the 5th Special Forces Regiment. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Regiment Commander, who gave a presentation in French on the unit's activities and mission. The meeting took place in a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation.
An important moment of the visit was the commemoration of the fallen soldiers at the Special Operations Forces Memorial, where the Ambassador, his entourage and the Regiment Command paid tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The presentation continued with a static display of weapons and equipment used in Special Operations, providing a detailed insight into the technical readiness and equipment of the Regiment.
The visit ended with an extraordinary meeting at the French language course attended by the Regiment members as part of their language training. This two-week course symbolically culminated on the same day as the arrival of the representatives of the French Embassy, underlining the importance of their presence and support for the training of military personnel.
